Boreen Point

Sightsee Boreen Point, the gateway to the upper Noosa River, the Noosa Everglades and the Great Sandy National Park, located on Queensland’s largest natural saltwater lake, Lake Cootharaba.

Mill Point

Visit Mill Point, a short walk from Elanda Point, which is the site of one of the earliest European settlements in the region, home to a sawmill operating from 1871-1892.

Stop for lunch at the historic Apollonian Hotel along the way.

Cooran

Visit Cooran, nestled between Mount Pinbarren and Mount Cooran and the Cooran Lookout (the James McKane Memorial Lookout) with breathtaking coastal and hinterland views.

Pomona

Pomona is known for the annual King of the Mountain Festival on the 4th Sunday in July every year and also has the world’s oldest authentic silent movie theatre, the Pomona’s Majestic Theatre. Go back in time and watch a silent movie or climb the 439m high volcanic rock of Mt Cooroora to experience views across coastal lakes towards the Cooloola Sand Patch and Great Sandy National Park.

Cooroy

Visit Cooroy and enjoy lunch at the cafés or Copperhead Brewery. Stroll along the streets to discover boutiques and gifts shops, like Gala Home.

Walk through the Mill Place Precinct in the heart of Cooroy, a creative and interactive indoor and outdoor hub that honours the town’s heritage as a thriving timber town.

Visit the Butter Factory Arts Centre which hosts exhibitions, workshops and a ceramics workshop. The Lower Mill Site houses a restored boiler house and kilns, a Log Maze, and Cooroora Woodworkers, where you can learn about the Sunshine Coast Camphor Laurel Initiative.

Lake Macdonald & Mount Tinbeerwah

At Lake Macdonald stretch your legs and stroll through the Noosa Botanic Gardens and go back to ancient times at the lakefront, Greek-style amphitheatre.

Visit Mt Tinbeerwah and walk the sealed track leading to a viewing area with sensational 360 ° views from coast to hinterland.

Eumundi

Drive to Eumundi, known for its amazing art galleries, pubs, cafés, boutique shops and the world-famous original Eumundi market.

Stroll along Memorial Drive under the shade of the magnificent memorial fig trees, visit art galleries and the Visitor Centre to learn about the many historic buildings constructed between 1890 and 1930.

Pop into the iconic Imperial Hotel, home to the Eumundi Brewery and try the local Pale Ale or take the tasting tour.

Noosa Hinterland National Parks

A little further drive, but still close to Noosa, is the Blackall Mountain Range (Blackall Range).

Visit Mapleton, Flaxton, Montville and Maleny and drive home via Kenilworth and pop into and sample locally made cheese.

Lunch at the restaurants and take in the breathtaking views. Enjoy morning tea with scones and clotted cream!

See the Kondalilla Falls, walk through the Mary Cairncross Reserve and discover the Conondale Range Great Walk.
